KoolMoves 7.0

KoolMoves 7.0 | 9,19 MB
KoolMoves takes an approach to Flash movie creation that is in tune with the animation process, because it was designed by a professional animator. It is a mature animation package with ease of use and power as guiding principles.
To make animations in KoolMoves all the user has to do is draw or import shapes or images and then reposition, reshape, and recolor the animation objects in adjacent key frames to achieve the look you want. KoolMoves automatically morphs shapes in between each of the shapes you create to achieve smooth animated motion. It’s like putting together a cartoon strip. Each frame contains text, images, shapes, sounds, and actions. For character animation, one frame would have the characters in one pose and in the next frame in another pose.

How To Make a KEYGEN Yourself
Lets start with the basics....
What is a keygen? A keygen, or key generator, it's a program written for a specific program so the user can enter any name and then have the registration code for that name. That simple.
Why make a keygen when just a serial can be used? Well part of the fun of cracking is making your own creations. Also it is kinda lame to produce only one serial for a particular proggie ie: Myname [MY GROUP '97] SERIAL:1234-5678, when the user would like to have his/her name as the registered owner. It takes a bit more skill to write one, and as a cracker, if you code it in asm, you will find it is a little easier to crack. Besides it seems kind of "elite" to make a keygen
How do i make a keygen? Ahhh, good question.... This is asked quite a lot. Basically you need to know HOW the program verifies whether the serial number you entered is correct. To verify it, the proggie has to actually encrypt the users input data (whether it is serial number, name, or combination of both) and then compare that answer to the info you entered. If it is incorrect, then we get a messagebox that tells us so.
To start off, we need to know whether there is only one serial number that will work, or whether it depends on what information we enter. Only one serial number allowed doesn't qualify for a keygen. If the program uses the information we enter to determine what the serial number is going to be, then that is where we need to start.
I always use basic numbers, or letters so i know what they are when i see them ie: 08642 or qazwsx. That way i don't get them mixed up with some data that might be in memory at the time.. also when you use numbers, programs can take those numbers and convert them to hexidecimal and then store them in a register or memory location. When u enter your data, remember that the number could be converted to hexidecimal ie: 123 would be 7Bh. You may see that in a register, so watch out for it!!! Sometimes programs need a serial like: 1234-5678-9024. You should see an echo of it in memory, as with any other info you enter. The program may convert that to hexidecimal ( minus the dashes) and store it somewhere, or it might take each number and do its math on it... meaning that it might take the 1 (31h) and multiply it by a certain value, then loop untill all the numbers have gone through the cycle, or something similar. PLEASE REMEMBER that not every proggie uses the same tricks. Some will convert the 1234 to hex, while others might use ascii to hex (asm term) or ascii to integer (C term) to make eax=1234 instead of the hexidecimal value of 1234... just be wary when
Now for the stratagy: When we enter our info, we want to see what is done with it. The best way to do that is set a break point range (bpr) on the intended info. I usually type my info in, then bpx hmemcpy in sice, then hit enter, hit f5 untill all the data is read, but b/4 we get to the messagebox. Hit f12 untill your back to 32 bit code, or 16bit (depending on what the proggie is written in). Then i disable my bpx hmemcpy, and set a break point on a certain line (so i don't have to go through the whole process of hmemcpy again), but if the program uses hmemcpy to move the serial some more, the bpr on the info usually picks it up. After i bpx a certain line, i s 0 l ffffffff 'my info' and when i find it, BPR
Some proggies take the users name and capitalize it, you should notice this, also notice whether certain characters are allowed ie: numbers, brackets, dashes, all the other characters... When the program capitalizes the name it may skip over certain characters and do nothing with them, or if you put a space in the name, it may convert the space to an underscore or some other character...TAKE NOTE OF WHAT GOES ON !!!!!!!!!!!
If the program doesn't worry about the users name, it might concentrate on the serial number provided. This we also have to watch. Earlier i mentioned that proggies may convert the numbers to hex, or ascii to hex, or just read them from memory, YOU HAVE TO NOTICE WHAT IT DOES when it reads/modified the number. Sometimes this isn't easy to see, or you might have caught part of the algo, and missed the first very important part. If so, you need to back track and find out what you missed... The key to understanding keygens it UNDERSTANDING HOW WHAT THE ALGORITHM DOES.. thus the name- keygens.
What is left out? Are there dashes in the serial still? Are certain characters no longer there? Do spaces equal spaces, or are they taken out, or replaced with underlines, or zero's? This is the most important part. Pay close attention.. at this point the serial number might be in hex form, or ascii character to hex representation, also known as ascii/integer representation. Meaning.. in memory instead of seeing 31h 32h 33h 34h 2Dh 35h 36h 37h 38h you will see 01h 02h 03h 04h 2Dh 05h 06h 07h 08h (the dash may not be there). These are all questions that we should be asking ourselves. There are a million different things to do to the serial number, but remember we need to duplicate it.
All of this so far is done b/4 the algorithm is reached. When we finally ge to it, we want to write down (on paper) what it does. Do this line by line... but at the top have the serial number, or name it uses so you can easily look and see where it gets the info. Start out by explaining all the variables, like..... eax now holds our serial in hex form, ecx holds the total number of digits entered, or [esi+bx] is the buffer where our name is stored (after it is capitalized). make sure you know what all the variables are b/4 u start writing lines. If eax=100h b/4 it starts, make a note of it. Sometimes there are already numbers in the registers that are part of the algo. This is essential.
Now write every line down on our paper. I write them exactly as shown in sice. The only difference is i comment every line that causes a register to change. I put in perenthesis what the registers hold after the instruction i s executed, that way when i finish mine and need to debug it, i know what numbers should be where. This will tell me where i went wrong. Some algos use the Zero flag for special jumps.. when this happens i write that down too. When i see something like mov ecx,[eax+4] i write down what that memory location would be, whether its my serial or just the hex value of my serial. If it is the buffer where my name is stored, i write that down too. At the end of the algorithm, the correct serial number is either in memory or in a register. Make a special point to wite down how it is stored. The registration number could be in eax. If eax= 12c4328a, the registration could be the decimal value of eax, or it could actually be 12c4328a. Make sure you know what u have to do to be able to print it to the screen. When i have the full algorithm on paper, i sit down and sort out what i don't need. If the program pushes something to the stack that isn't important to me, I leave it out. (today i just found an algo that uses 57 lines of code, and i cut it down to 24)
By this time, you should have a basic understanding of how the program generates the serial. Now we duplicate it.
#1. get input
#2. make name all caps
#3. change all Q's and Z's to R's
#4. get all letters of the name and do the math
#5. eax=hex value of our serial
#6. convert to decimal
#7. print to screen
#8. done!!!
OR:
#1. get input
#2. convert serial number to hex, and move into eax
#3. do math with serial number
#4. edx=23abc3e5.... and 23abc3e5 is our registration code...
#5. put edx into memory in ascii form
#6. print to screen
#7. done!!!
Whatever u do, make sure u have your outline. That way when you start writing it, you will know what is needed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOW is the time for OUR keygen... i've provided some code you can track down and break on.
For this example i am going to use the Name: stickless (no caps) and the registration number 987654.
First of all, enter your name, and serial number in the spaces provided. Don't hit enter.
1. In sice set bpx hmemcpy, and exit again
2. Hit enter, and hit f5 1 time
3. Now hit f12 untill you are back into the w32filer code
4. Search for 33 d2 33 c0 3b c8 7e 17 0f be and set a break point on that location.
5. Search for 0f be 0a 83 f9 20 74 0d 8a 0a and also set a break point on that address. ( s 0 l ffffffff 0a 83 f9 20 74 0d 8a 0a ) is how
6. Now on the first line after you enter w3filer code, set a bpx on it.
Also bd the bpx hmemcpy. (I do that so i don't have to go back through hmemcpy if i mess up.)
7. If all goes well you can hit f5 and it will break on the line that starts moving your serial to another place, then capitalizes it.
(if not, then exit select ok and follow the first call after writeprivatprofilestringa, and you will find it.) Single step through this part of the program so you can see what happens.
8. REMEMBER to write down on a piece of paper exactly what we see the program doing. We will need this for our keygen.
8a. You should see each character being loaded, then compared to see if it is a captial letter already, if not, then it is checked to see if it is a space. If it is, then it skips over it to the next letter.
9. after this is done, there is another call. This one calculates the total number of letters that are in the name. It is then compared to 4, to see if there were enough characters entered.
10. You may be able to see the next break point we searched for. If not, set a temporary break point on a line where you are at, then hit f5. If we found the correct bytes and set a bpx on them, then we should stop at the actual algorithm. If not, then we'll have to hit ok and go through this process again.
11. When we break on the algorithm we will see these lines:
xor edx,edx -clears edx for a new start
xor eax,eax -new start
cmp ecx,eax -ecx holds the total number of digits we entered
jle xxxxxxxx -xxxxxxxx is some line number that continues the algo
loop: movsx ebx,byte ptr [eax+esi] -gets the first letter, then next
shl ebx,03 -shifts the value of the letter left 3 times
movsx edi,byte ptr [esi+esi] -gets same letter in edi
imul edi,eax -eax holds the spot in our name. first letter = 0
add ebx,edi -add the hex value of the letter to ebx
add edx,ebx -now add that number to edx
inc eax -increase our counter (for our name)
cmp ecx,eax -does the counter equal the total number of digits?
jg loop -if it is greater than our total digits, then go on
-the program loops untill all letters of our name -have been read and converted
mov eax,[00416720] -this is the hexidecimal representaion of the
-serial number provided. If you ? eax, you
-will see the serial number
sar eax,03 -shift arithmatic right
add edx,eax -at this point edx now holds our serial number..
-however, there is a little twist to the story
-edx=6856d39.. if you ? edx you get 0109407545..
-however if you enter that number, it won't work
-the reg code IS 6856d39
*********** REALLY BIG NOTE HERE!! DON'T IGNORE THIS*******************
WRITE ALL OF THIS DOWN ON PAPER WHILE YOUR DOING IT.
I write it exactly as i see it, and put comments on every line.
You can never have too many comments, unless they don't make sense.
In the place of [eax+esi] i write "points to my name" behind it.
Remember, to make your keygen, you need to know what to put in it,
and what order. Currently i have this written down on paper:
1. Enter name
2. Move it and take out the spaces
3. Capitalize it
4. Get the number of characters entered
5. Cmp that number to 4
6. Enter algorithm
7. I have the algo on paper and have it commented
8. After algo is over with, edx hold the hexidecimal represention of my serial number
WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN AND COMMENT IT!!!!!!
*******************************ok
If you trace a little while longer, then you will see that number being compared to the number you entered. There is a return and eax=0 if all is well. If not, then we go to the messagebox.
I am done with my tutorial. All that is left is the source for my keygen.
Study it, and duplicate it, steal any code u need, or modify it all you want. I don't care, as long as you learn how things work.
Encluded should be the program, and another copy of the source. I suggest you compile it with the int3's included and set a bpint 3 in sice, and single step through all of it. You will learn a lot more by doing that than just reading the code. I know i have rambled on for a long time now so i'll stop.
I hope this brought a few of you closer to understanding keygens and how to make them. I have plans for another tutorial on them, but ran out of time to put it in here. This next one will use a different type of algorithm, and i'll show u some more asm code. Using the two tutes, you should be able to write your own for most programs. have fun and stay happy

Learn sharing Internet connection in Windows XP
The alternatives:
Hardware router
Pros: - once turned on the device provides Internet connection.
Cons: - set up, price.
Hub
Pros: - price, allows proper connectivity and data transfer between several computers.
Cons: - doesn't support network address translation(NAT).
+
Proxy server
Pros: - emulates hardware router functionality and gives IP address and port to the clients to provide Internet connectivity.
Cons:
- every client needs to use the Proxy server address
- network connection protocols are not being fully supported
What you'll need:
- one additional network(LAN) card, which will act as an outgoing Internet device
- (optionally) hub, if you are willing to share you Internet with more than one computer
Let's begin
Server setup
First off you'll have to know whether you've been using:
Dial up type of connection (PPPoE) providing a username and password or you are directly connected to your provider(ADSL...) without having to enter username and password every time prior using the Internet.
Open up Start->Settings->Network Connections to see your network cards(LAN).
Important!
If you are using ADSL find the incoming Internet connection card(i.e through which the Internet comes in) and right click -> Properties(fig. 1)
If you are using LAN + Dial up find your Dial up connection(and not the LAN card) and right click -> Properties(fig. 2)

Fig.1 ADSL

Fig 2. LAN + Dial up
On the next screen check the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection.

Then you'll be prompted to allow the ICS to change your second(inner) LAN card settings.
From now on it'll have IP 192.168.0.1 and will serve dynamic IP addresses via DCHP to the connected computers(clients).
Other computers setup(clients)
The only thing left to do is to go to Start->Settings->Network Connections, right click on the network card Properties -> Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) - then again on Properties.

...and check both as shown automatically

Don't forget!
Protect the shared connection
When all of your computers already have Internet it is important to turn on the integrated Windows firewall:
from Start->Run->Firewall.cpl
and then check both: On(recommended) and Don't allow exceptions
Now you are ready. Happy surfing!!!
SpeedUp Your Adobe PhotoShop Startup
Each time Photoshop start, all plug-ins (necessary or unnecessary) also load with Photoshop. You can prevent unnecessary plug-ins by loading thus reduce start up time.

Navigate to C:\program files (assuming ‘C’ is your installed directory)\Adobe. Open the directory. Here you can see folder named ‘plug-ins’. Within this folder you find the plug in files, all of which loaded each time Photoshop started.
You can disable plug-ins which you scarcely use. To do this simply edits the name of the files or folders containing plug-ins and insert a tilde (~) before each name. You can always re-enable the plug-ins by deleting the symbol ‘~’.

Recover Root Password-Linux
Root Password - Easy Method:
The simplest way to recover from a lost password is to boot into single user mode.
If you are using LILO, at the LILO boot prompt (graphical LILO users can press Ctrl-x to exit the graphical screen and go to the boot: prompt), enter:
Code:
linux single
This will make you the "root" user without asking for a password. Once the system has booted, you can change the root password using the password command:
Code:
passwd
The instructions for GRUB users are similar. Press 'e' at the GRUB prompt to select boot parameters. Select the line for the kernel you want to boot, and go to the end of it. Add "single" as a separate word, and then press ENTER to exit the edit mode. Once back at the GRUB screen, press "b" to boot into single user mode.
If for whatever reason, the above solution doesn't work for you, there is another option. Boot using a so called "Live CD" Linux distribution, such as Knoppix. For the purposes of this example, it will be assumed that the user is using Knoppix.
After booting up from the Knoppix CD, go to a terminal and su to root (no password is required). After your priviledges have been escalated, issue the following commands (be sure to replace each /hda1 with your own root ('/') partition):
Code:
mount -o dev,rw /mnt/hda1 cd /mnt/hda1/etc
Once you are into your system /etc directory, you can use a text-editor (such as vim, nano, pico, etc.) to edit the /etc/shadow file where the password is stored. Various information about root and user accounts is kept in this plain-text file, but we are only concerned with the password portion.
For example, the /etc/shadow entry for the "root" account may look something like this:
Code:
root:$1$aB7mx0Licb$CTbs2RQrfPHkz5Vna0.fnz8H68tB.:/
10852:0:99999:7:::
(The '/' indicates a line continuation)
Now, using your favorite editor (I'll use vim) delete the password hash (the green text).
Code:
vim shadow
After you've edited this field, it should look like this:
Code:
root::10852:0:99999:7:::
Now save the file and change back to the root directory and unmount the system root partition (don't forget to change the /hda1) as follows:
Code:
cd / umount /mnt/hda1
Now reboot the computer.
Once the computer has booted and you're at the login prompt, type "root" and when asked for the password just press ENTER (entering no password). After a successful login, you need to set the new password for root using the following command:
Code:
passwd

Troubleshooting Dot Matrix Printers
- If the printer self-tests OK but will not print jobs from the computer, check the following:
- Dip switch settings
- Proper driver for your application software
- Bad or disconnected cable
- Some printers have both serial and parallel connections. If one doesn't work, change cables and try the other. Be sure to change any dip switch settings needed by the printer to acknowledge the change. If this works, you may have had a physical problem with the output port on the computer or the input port of the printer that you tried the first time.
- If a dot matrix printer shuts down and recovers frequently, it may be having problems with its "thermistor". A thermistor is a device used to keep the printer from overheating. Try replacing this part before you replace the entire print head.
- Some printers can be set by dip switches for unidirectional or bi-directional printing. Bi-directional is normally faster, but might cause problems with graphic output for some combinations of applications and printers. If you suspect this problem, reset your dip switches for unidirectional printing.
- If your output is double-spaced when you expect single-spaced, you may be getting an extra Carriage Return and Line Feed at the end of every line. Reset the dip switch(es) controlling this.
- If your print quality is poor, first check the ribbon for wear. Also examine the print head spacing. Your head may be too far away from the platen for your current paper thickness. If adjusting the spacing doesn't solve the problem, clean the print head itself with a cotton swab dipped lightly in alcohol.
Troubleshooting Laser Printers
- Be sure all dip switches are properly set for your configuration. Laser configuration is sometimes done by a control panel of buttons with an LED display that permits you to alter configuration memory. Be sure that the application being used is properly configured for the printer as set up.
- Fuzzy laser output could mean you have a dirty corona wire or you are running out of toner. Horizontal lines or splotches indicate possible damaged or dirty print drums or rollers. Since some of these components are part of the cartridge, a useful quick fix is simply to change the cartridge.
- If laser images seem disproportionately long or short, the drive motor may not be moving the paper through at the correct speed.
- Failure of a laser printer to go on-line might be a communication interface problem. It could also indicate a faulty control panel. Try powering up the printer with the cable removed. If it now goes to "ONLINE" (or "READY"), suspect the cable or its connector.
- If you are printing totally black pages, suspect a broken or fouled corona wire. If that is not the case, replace the toner cartridge.
- If the print appears speckled, it is probably the fault of the primary corona grid which is part of the toner cartridge. Replace the toner cartridge.
- If white streaks appear in your printing, shake the toner cartridge to insure an equal distribution of powder. If that doesn't work, clean the transfer corona assembly. Contamination on the assembly will prevent it from holding the electrical charge needed to attract toner from the drum.
- A repetitive pattern of printing defects, such as an identical smudge every 2 inches may indicate a defective fusing roller. Try cleaning it according to your hardware vendor's instructions. If that does not work, you may need to replace the fusing roller assembly.

Searchlight 2.1.1 (MacOSX)
Description:
Search and access all your Mac's files remotely via your iPhone or any web browser.
• Access your computer's files from anywhere
• Email files from your Mac, directly from your iPhone
• Access all your emails on your Mac
• Bonjour integration for easy setup.
Expand Spotlight to work online:
When working with a lot of files, with multiple people working on a central repository of files, chaos is never far away.
Even with strict rules, files often fall into multiple categories, and therefore do not have a clear location.
Search technology is a clear improvement, and allows people to find files no matter where they were saved.
Simplicity:
Searchlight's iPhone App and AJAX powered Web Interface are designed to make the whole process of finding documents on your computer as simple as possible, no matter where you are on the network, even if you are working on a Microsoft Windows box.
Spotlight on Mac, Windows & Linux:
Aside from the iPhone, Searchlight brings the power of Spotlight to your entire network, including Windows and Linux users, through a very simple web interface. A recent web browser is all you need.
Searchlight automatically detects the connectivity options of its clients. Therefore Windows and Linux users are provided with Windows File Sharing (SMB) links to access documents.
Mac users get access through the Apple Filing Protocol (AFP).
Bonjour:
Searchlight propagates its service to your network through the Bonjour.
When on the same local network, just open the iPhone App, and it will automatically detect all Searchlight servers within reach.
On the desktop, just open Safari's bookmarks and select "Bonjour" in "Collections," and voila, all available Searchlight Servers show up and are only a click away.
Quicklook in your Browser:
Searchlight allows you to see thumbnails and previews of your files directly in your browser, you can even watch your movies in the browser remotely.

Top 10 Windows Vista Speed Tweaks
1. Turn off Windows Search Indexing
Windows Vista search indexing is constantly reviewing files on your system to make their contents available for quick searching. This is handy, but can severely impact system performance.
To disable constant indexing:
* Click Start then Computer
* Right Click the C: Drive
* On General Tab, Uncheck Index this drive for faster searching
* On the subsequent dialog box, Select Include subfolders and files
2. Turn off Remote Differential Compression
Remote Differential Compression measures the changes in files over a network to transfer them with minimal bandwidth rather than transferring an entire file that has previously been moved. By constantly checking for file changes, this service can hinder system performance.
To disable this service:
* Open Control Panel
* Switch to Classic View
* Select Program Features
* Choose Turn Windows features on and off
* Scroll down and uncheck Remote Differential Compression
3. Turn off Automatic Windows Defender Operation
Windows Defender real-time protection against malware continues to run despite having Automatic operation disabled.
To disable this feature:
* Open Control Panel
* Select Windows Defender
* Choose Tools from the top menu
* Select Options
* Uncheck Auto Start at the bottom of the window
4. Turn off Automatic Disk Defragmentation
Windows Vista and its always-on defragment feature isn’t really that necessary and can cause system slow down. Just remember to run a defrag manually every week or so.
To disable this:
* Click Start then Computer
* Right Click the C: Drive
* Select the Tools Tab
* Uncheck Run on a schedule
5. Add a 2GB or higher USB Flash drive to take advantage of Windows Ready Boost (Additional Memory Cache)
Ready Boost is Microsoft’s name for using a USB thumb/flash drive to provide some quick access memory the operating system can use as extra RAM. The Ready Boost system can significantly improve system performance.
To set this up:
* Insert a USB Flash Drive
* Click Start then Computer
* Right Click the USB Drive in My Computer
* Select the Ready Boost Tab
* Choose Use this device
* Select as much space as you can free up for RAM usage vs. Storage
6. Turn off Windows Hibernation
Windows hibernation background services can use a large amount of system resources. If you don’t use the Hibernate feature on a regular basis you may want to disable it to give Vista a performance boost.
To disable Hibernation:
* Select the Control Panel then Power Options
* Click Change Plan Settings
* Click on Change Advanced Power Settings
* Expand the Sleep selection
* Expand the Hibernate After selection
* Crank the selector down to zero
* Click Apply
7. Turn off System Restore
Analysis and restore point creation by Windows Vista can eat a fair amount of system resources. Disabling this service will obviously mean the system restore feature in Vista will not be available in the event of a system crash. Change this at your own risk.
To disable this service:
* Control Panel>System
* Click System Protection on the left panel
* Uncheck the main system drive
* Agree to the confirmation
8. Disable User Access Control (UAC)
This much-loathed new Vista feature attempts to protect your system from malware infection by making you manually confirm a whole host of everyday user operations. While it doesn’t directly impact performance, it can be annoying and might be more hassle than good.
To disable User Access Control:
* Click Start then Control Panel
* Select User Accounts
* Select Turn User Account Control on or off
* Uncheck User Account Control Box
* Restart as recommended
9. Disable excess Windows Services that Auto-Launch at Startup
Just like Windows XP, Vista ships with all kinds of services enabled that load at startup and may never be used by most users.
To see what loads at startup and disable the ones you likely won’t be needing (they can always be started manually later):
* Click Start then Control Panel
* Select Administrative Tools
* Choose System Configuration
* Click the Services Tab
* You can safely deselect:
o Offline Files (unless you’re using Offline File Sync)
o Tablet PC Input Service (unless you have a tablet PC)
o Terminal Services
o Windows Search (If you have already disabled indexing)
o Fax (unless you’re using a fax modem)
10. Disable Excess Windows Features
Windows ships with other features that are listed separately in the Vista operating system from the startup services.
You can view and disable these features by:
* Clicking Start then Control Panel
* Select Program Features
* On the left panel, select Turn Windows Features on or off
* You can safely deselect:
o Indexing Service
o Remote Differential Compression
o Tablet PC Optional Components
o Windows DFS Replication Service
o Windows Fax & Scan (unless you use a modem for faxing)
o Windows Meeting Space (unless you use the Live Meeting Service)

Description :
- No installation in Windows is required making PC Login Now an easy alternative to many other password recovery tools.

What is ISO File ?
Definition: An ISO file, often called an ISO image, is in fact an "image" of an entire CD or DVD. The entire contents of a disc can be perfectly represented in a single ISO file.
You can think of an ISO file like a box that holds all the parts to something that needs built - like a child's toy you might buy that requires assembly. The box that the toy pieces come in does you no good as an actual toy but the contents inside of it, once taken out and put together, become what you're actually wanting to use.
An ISO file is the same way. The file itself is no good unless it can be opened, assembled, and used. The most common way to make use of an ISO file is to burn the ISO file to a CD or DVD. It's a different process than burning an MP3 file or a document to a disc because your CD/DVD burning software must "assemble" the contents of the ISO file onto the disc.
ISO image files are often used to distribute large programs over the Internet due to the fact that all of the program's files can be neatly contained as a single file - the ISO file.
ISO images end in the file extension ISO. For example, the free Ophcrack password recovery tool (which contains an entire operating system and several pieces of software) is downloaded as the ophcrack-vista-livecd-2.0.iso file.
Also Known As: ISO image
Examples: "I downloaded an ISO file from a torrent site (it was legal, don't worry) and tried to burn it to a CD but it wouldn't do anything after that. I finally realized that I had to 'burn the image' with by burning software, not just stick the file on the CD."
What do you do with an ISO file once you've downloaded it? An ISO file is an image of a CD or DVD so to use it, you first need to burn it to a CD or DVD.
Burning the ISO image file to a CD or DVD is a bit different than just burning the file. You'll need to choose the "burn image" or "write image" option in your burning software and then choose the file.
If your CD/DVD burning software does not have this option or you want something more simples, try following the steps below to burn an ISO image file to a CD or DVD.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: Burning an ISO image file to a CD or DVD usually takes less than 15 minutes
How to Burn ISO File ?
- Download Free Easy CD DVD Burner and follow the on-screen directions to install the software. (You may use any software such as Nero, Easy CD Creator, etc.,)
Note: Free Easy CD DVD Burner is completely free and fully functional. However, there are some accompanying programs that it asks you to install - feel free to decline those if you're not interested. Currently, Free Easy CD DVD Burner supports Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 and Windows Vista.
- Insert a blank CD or DVD in your drive.
- Open the Free Easy CD DVD Burner program.
- Click on the Copy CD/DVD button on the tool bar at the top of the program window.
- Under the Action menu on the left, click the Burn an image file link.
- When the Select the image file that you want to burn window opens, locate and select the ISO file you wish to burn to the empty disc and then click Open.
- A dialog box will appear asking "Do you want to burn [your chosen ISO file]?".
Click OK to confirm.
The burning process will automatically begin. The time it takes to burn will depend on the size of the ISO file and the speed of both your PC and your CD or DVD burner.
- When the burning is complete, the CD or DVD will automatically eject from the drive. You can remove the disc and close Free Easy CD DVD Burner.
- If you view the contents of the disc, you might notice many files and folders. So what happened to the ISO file? Remember that the ISO file is just an image of what should be on the CD or DVD. That ISO file contained the information for all of the files you see on the disc.
Tips :
- You must have a CD or DVD burner to write ISO files to CDs or DVDs. You will not be able to burn ISO files if you only have a standard CD or DVD drive.
Many ISO files, like some memory testing programs and password recovery tools, are intended to be booted from after they are burned.
After burning :
After burning boot from the CD by rebooting with the disc still in the drive. PC Login Now will start automatically.
To delete your password, follow the instructions on screen. Choose your operating system installation and then the user name that you want the password deleted for. Be sure to check the password is empty checkbox after choosing your user name. This will remove the password.
Your password will be removed instantly and you'll be asked if you want to reset another user. Choose No and then OK to reboot. You'll see some commands and then your computer will restart. Remove the CD as soon as the computer reboots. If you don't remove it in time PC Login Now will start again. If that happens, just remove the CD and restart manually.
One downfall of using PC Login Now is that it causes Windows to detect the possibility of a hard drive issue. Windows will run chkdsk to make sure your data hasn't been corrupted and will then continue loading. Rest assured there is no damage to your hard drive.
Log in as you normally do but do not enter anything in the password field. You're in!
