Since due to higher security risks Windows Vista not allows auto logon by default.Don’t do this trick if your system contains confidential data and is physically insecure.Here there is a trick to auto logon Windows vista.

1.click on the Start menu button and type 'netplwiz' on the search bar on the Start menu and hit Enter.(if you want to do this trick in Windows XP, click Start, Run, and type control userpasswords2 in the Open box)



2.In the GUI window that comes up, you will find "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer" box and uncheck it.
3.After this click 'Apply'
4.In the new dialog box that opens type the name of the user account you want to auto-logon by default (if the account is not normally passworded then leaves it blank)



5.Click OK and exit

Now reboot your system. You should bypass the logon screen and go straight to your desktop, just as you did in Windows XP.

Softare Installation Failures in xp - Fix available

Microsoft revealed that there are scenarios in which the software installation process on Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows XP SP2 would fail, causing the entire operating system to become unresponsive. The Redmond giant has identified no specific software products which fail to integrate with Windows XP; however, it did point out that at fault is an issue connected with the Windows Installer service. The company is not offering an update to resolve the problem, but has made available two hotfixes.

“When you try to install some software on a Windows XP-based computer, the installation process may stop responding (hang). However, the installation status shows 100 percent. The system does not respond until a system restart occurs. This problem may occur if the software is installed by the Windows Installer service. This problem occurs because of a race condition in the Windows Installer service,” Microsoft revealed.

The hotfixes offered to XP users are set up for Windows XP SP3, XP SP2 with Windows Installer 3.0 and XP SP2 with Windows Installer 3.1. However, all those affected by the software installation failures will have to contact Microsoft directly in order to access the resolves. Microsoft has offered no additional details related to the issues, except to point out that a viable solution also involves updating the Windows Installer service to the latest version available.

“To resolve this problem, you can also upgrade the Windows Installer service to the latest version (Windows Installer 4.5),” the company added. The gold build of Windows Installer 4.5 was released at the start of June 2008 not only for Windows XP SP2 and SP3, but also for Windows Vista RTM/SP1, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. At the same time, Microsoft is also delivering the Software Development Kit for Windows Installer 4.5 made available as of mid-June 2008.

Fix a Wet Cell Phone

Step # 1: Do not press the Power button

The first thing to fix a wet cell phone is do not panic and try to power up your Cell phone. Everytime you try to power on a wet cell phone, you increase the chances of permanently damaging your cell phone.

Step # 2: Remove the battery

The battery might be able to conduct charge to the cell phone. Remove the battery and dry it with a cloth or anything else you can find ( your shirt)

Step # 3: Remove the SIM card and the memory card

Both your SIM and if you have a memory card on your cell phone, can conduct electricity. They are electronic circuits too. Remove them and dry them.

Step # 4: Sun or blower

I once slipped into a pool with my cell phone in my pockets. Of course it did not work or power on. I followed the steps above. Then grabbed a blow dryer from a friend and used it on my wet cell phone… tried to dry it as much as possible. Then i stepped out and left my wet cell phone in the balcony for couple of days. Third day, I blow dry it once again, plug back every thing and my cell phone is back to normal.

Step # 5: Service Center

If all the above steps fail, take it to your nearest service center. Most of these places charge for these services to fix a wet cell phone and above all, liquid damaged cell phones are usually not covered by warranty.

How to manage startup or booting applications

Microsoft Windows use different places for booting processes and application. Microsoft Windows use Windows Registry, Boot.ini and Start up Menu for booting or start up applications.

To manage all start up applications is not an easy task but I will tell you an easy task. Microsoft Windows has built in utility for managing start up applications.
Open Run Command, type msconfig and press enter.
System Configuration Utility will load


After loading this utility click on Startup tab and manage all starting applications. If you want to disable any startup process then un check that process and click OK.

Windows will ask to reboot Windows. You can reboot your Windows.

Note: Microsoft Windows 2000 does not support this utility.

Group of computers called Network of computers. Computers can connect via Cables and Wireless media with each others. After connecting with each others Computers can share data files, printing jobs and even internet connection with each other. If you have internet connection only in computer; you can share that connection with every computer connected with network. If you have only one printer installed in your network. Every computer and user from network can send printing jobs to that printer.

Network is useful for share your hardware and software. All communication is based on IP ADDRESS.

How to share files and folders

How to share files and folder over network? Sharing of Files and Folders is very easy on Microsoft Windows XP. If your computer is on network and you want to share your files and folders with other users of network then you must share your folder. Here are the steps to share folder over network.

1. Right click on Folder.

2. Click on "Sharing and Security" option.

3. Select "Share this folder" option.
Note: If you want to set write permissions for network users then click on "Permissions" button. After set write permissions network users can copy their files into this folder and can delete files and folders in this folder.

How to access network computer

How to access shared files and folders over network If you are on network and want to access other network computers and their Files/Folders (If they shared) then you need to know their computers name or Customer IP adress. Via computer name of computer IP address you can access files. here are the details

How to get my computer name
01. Click on "Start" menu.
02. Click on "Run Command".
03. Type "cmd" (without quotes) and press Enter.
04. Windows XP "Command Prompt" utility will appear.
- a. Type command "HostName" (without quotes).
Your computer name will appear.

Access other computers
To access other computers you should know their names. now here are the steps..
01. Click on "Start" menu.
02. Click on "Run Command".
03. Type "\\IPAddress or ComputerName" and press Enter.

After this process target computer will open and you can see shared folders and access their files.
